February is over. 1/6 of the year in the books. That chart to the left is the S&P 500 year to date.
Down is bad, to the tune of -18.6% for 2009. The year is far from over but this is quite a hole.

The SEC filed an amended civil complaint Friday against Stanford Group, this time alleging that the operation was absolutely positively a Ponzi scheme. Yeah, no kidding. I'm waiting to hear whether there was money laundering involved.
